Can American Idol Stop The Lip-Syncing Now?
It’s time to eliminate one more contestant from American Idol. I’m ready for almost anyone to go home tonight, aside from Danny Gokey or Adam Lambert, cause even if they were the person going home, I know the judges would use their save. But they won’t be.
I’m not sure if this show has ever seemed as long to me as it does this year. It seems like we’ve been watching this season for years rather than just months. And there are still months left!
So we start the show and, randomly, Frankie Avalon comes out singing Venus. What? What show is this? Apparently, this is in homage to the year of Simon’s birth, 1959. All that just to poke fun at Simon. It was a little weird and uncomfortable. Speaking of weird and uncomfortable, the group number is some song from the year of American Idol’s birth, 2002.
We then waste a little time watching them film the Ford commercial. It’s a magic show and Adam is the magician. Works for me.
OK, so are we gonna eliminate anyone this week or not? Can we please hurry up?
Good. Finally, Ryan Seacrest starts the eliminations with Adam, Kris Allen and Anoop Desai standing. Adam is safe. Kris is safe and Anoop is in the bottom three.
We now have to live through a performance of Flo Rida. Oh, no, wait, I don’t have to, I have the power of fast forward and I plan to use it right now to not have to listen to, as my husband put it, “this bunch of flash and crap.” I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Back to the point of the show, the eliminations, we have Danny Gokey, who is safe. Next we have Matt Giraud, who is safe. Although Seacrest tried to fake him out yet again.
Next up is Scott MacIntyre who is in the bottom three. I’m two for two, so far.
Lastly, we have Allison Iraheta and Lil Rounds. And, three for three, Lil is in the bottom three. I’m gonna say right now, that earlier today I voted at ew.com’s Idol Prediction Challenge saying that Anoop is probably going home this week. VotefortheWorst has chosen to vote for Scott, which may save him, for this week anyway, and I think Lil has a larger fan base. I could be wrong. I guess we’ll know for sure in about 15 minutes.
I’m even happier that I’m able to fast forward now, cause Kellie Pickler is here to sing and I don’t have to listen to one note. Yay, me!
The first person back to safety is Lil. But this little trip into reality might be good for her, maybe it will convince her to finally listen to the judges’ advice and stop trying to be a big voiced diva.
Honestly, I doubt the judges would waste their save on either Anoop or Scott. But we will see.
The person with the lowest number of votes is . . . Scott! I’ve never been so happy to be wrong. Even if Anoop is boring, Scott is annoying. So now we have to sit around and see if the judges save him. Please, no! Please. I’m begging here.
Thank you, Simon!
