Carpooling Around
Carpoolers (ABC, Tuesday) may be letting me down. If you’ve been reading this blog, you’ll know that I went through a couple of stages with this show already. At first, I thought it wasn’t that great of a concept, since I had no idea what they planned to do with these people for 30 minutes in a car each week. Then, once I watched the first ep, I thought the show was funny. Unfortunately, the last couple of eps have been too much about sex rather than anything else, I think. It seems to me that if all you have to be funny about is sex, then you aren’t that funny.
In my opinion, it’s got fairly strong competition in Bones (Fox), even though it does lead into Dancing with the Stars (which I wouldn’t watch if they paid me, but which I understand is fairly popular), however, once American Idol starts up in January (if Carpoolers should happen to still be around, since it hasn’t been picked up for a full season yet), it would never, ever hold its slot.

Personally, I’d like to see more of Marmaduke, cause he’s just perfect. And no, I didn’t care for Napoleon Dynamite. I’m not even certain what would make people name their child after a dog from the comics, but I’m sure they had their reasons. The name itself is funny, so even if TJ Miller wasn’t doing an awesome job portraying the character, he’d still be worth a laugh. ![]()
The rest of the cast is also very good. I just hope that the writers and producers will take advantage of that and give them some better material.
