“Reid Delivers the Goods But Goes Home Anyway…Or Does He?” on the Bachelorette

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

9tk28oLots of rumours floating around about the ending of the Bachelorette but before I get to those let’s have a look at what happened this week during the fantasy suite dates.

First up we have Kiptyn the Molester meeting up with Jillian in Maui for a little daredevil high wire fun. They hooked themselves up to harnesses and spent the day about 30 feet in the air walking across boards, ropes and eventually jumping off the top of a pole in a “leap of faith” to try to catch a trapeze bar. Now I know that this is one of those outward bound type activities that are so popular right now but I honestly don’t know why anyone would bother. It looks like a stupid way to spend a day and at this stage of the competition I can’t see how this activity is going to let Jillian know anything about whether her and Kiptyn are a “good fit”. Kiptyn does encourage Jillian to get up on the top of that pole but I can’t help but think that I personally would not want to spend eternity with a man who encourages me to try death defying stunts for kicks. I think I would have more respect for a man who just admitted that it was a stupid thing to do and encouraged me to get back on the ground pronto.

So they move on to (more…)

“Normal Ed is Back” on The Bachelorette

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

r0qhbtJust a few more weeks for The Bachelorette and thanks to our friend Sandy the Reality TV Guru, we’re getting the inside scoop.

It was finally time for our Jillian to go meet some “fah-milies” (again, I have no idea what kind of accent she uses for that word) this week on The Bachelorette. I never thought we’d get out of western Canada for this to happen. And thank goodness none of the guys lived anywhere where there was any snow at the time of year that the family visits were filmed. I had visions of Jillian romping and rolling around in the snow with the families and I was sure I couldn’t take one more moment of it.

First up we have (more…)

“The Train Stops Here” on The Bachelorette

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

trainAnother wonderful installment from Sandy the Reality TV Guru updating us on this week’s episode of The Bachelorette.

Well, we’re down to eight guys vying for Jillian’s attention and we’re no closer to figuring out just what the girl is looking for in a future husband so let’s just throw them all on the Rocky Mountaineer train through British Columbia and Alberta and see what happens. Sounds like a good plan, and so very Canadian. Actually, I’m kind of jealous of that train trip. It’s one that I’ve always wanted to go on. I mean if I can get my perfect Ken Doll Jake to fly me to British Columbia, we’re so gonna do that trip only this time it’ll be all one on one, all of the time. What do you say Jake? I’m waiting. And you’ve apparently got some extra time on your hands…well we’ll get to that later.

The train takes off from the station and we are informed that there are going to be two one on one dates and one group date this week. There will be five roses handed out and those five guys will be taking Jillian home to meet their families. And as a Canadian I’d just like to point out that no one I know pronounces family the way Jillian does. I’m not sure where she’s picked up that strange accent but it’s not Canadian. Just thought I’d put that out there.

First up is Robby the Bartender. Not surprisingly, (more…)

“Normal Ed Takes a Break” on The Bachelorette

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

21amhyeAnother wonderful installment from Sandy the Reality TV Guru updating us on this week’s episode of The Bachelorette.

Apparently we’re going to be getting a full out tour of British Columbia during this season of the Bachelorette so in keeping with the usual tourist spots in that beautiful Canadian province, albeit snowy and cold in the mountains during the winter, we’re off to Whistler. I really would like to know how much the 2010 Olympics is paying the show for a little free advertising of the next winter games.

This week the boys are in for two one-on-one dates and one group date. Since the numbers are dwindling, everyone gets to participate. Which is good since we still have to figure out who the douche with the girlfriend back home is…but will we? Of course not.

First up on the one-on-one date is (more…)

Ragin’ Dave Needs Another Drink on The Bachelorette

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

And here's a picture of Ragin' Dave. I know he looks kinda hot but don't let that fool you...he's a psycho.

And here's a picture of Ragin' Dave. I know he looks kinda hot but don't let that fool you...he's a psycho.

Thank goodness for Sandy the Reality TV Guru for sending these posts. Since I am still without my computer, I just cannot seem to get anything posted. But at least you get to keep up on The Bachelorette!

Things are heating up in the old tool shed and we might just have our first ever arrest on The Bachelorette. Dave’s rage and obvious dislike for all things Juan are once again taking precedence over the fact that Jillian is a kissing bandit. In fact, the only one she hasn’t planted one on at this point is Ragin’ Dave and from the previews for next week, it doesn’t look like (more…)

Hot Tub Harris on The Bachelorette

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

jakethepilotHere is another fun guest post from Sandy the Reality TV Guru:

Perhaps it’s because most of the reality shows are on hiatus for the season but I’m still trying to figure out how ABC can give up 2 hours of prime time television for both The Bachelor and now for The Bachelorette. I expected it for the season premiere last week but I was surprised that the trend continued this week. I hope they don’t plan on doing this for the entire series. I can do with a little less face time from the majority of these psycho dudes.

Last night we were treated to the reason why “Hot Tub Harris” got (more…)

No Boundaries on American Idol

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

adamFinally, here we are at the end of American Idol Season 8. Because I still can’t blog as I watch without my laptop, like I’ve been doing all season, I won’t do an actual recap this week, but just share my thoughts about the show tonight.

Both Adam Lambert and Kris Allen had to sing (more…)

The Bachelorette is Back

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

jillian-harris-bThis is a guest post by a friend of mine, Sandy the Reality TV Guru:

Just when you thought it was going to be safe to tune your television sets to ABC again on Monday nights after this week’s finale of “Dancing With The Stars”, and be free of all that was wrong with last season’s instalment of “The Bachelor“, alas…it is not to be. Immediately after the 4 minute run over of the “Dancing With The Stars” final dance off, in which our poor broken hearted jilted Melissa Rycroft is an odds on favourite to take the shiny disco ball and hopefully remove herself from my television set permanently, on comes the fourth instalment of “The Bachelor’s” testosterone overloaded (more…)

Go Go Gokey Has Finally Go-Go-Gone

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

adamlambertI’m gonna cut to the chase on my American Idol chop and slash show review.

We watched three home visit reels, sat through Jordin Sparks and Katy Perry (thank God for my mute button, since I didn’t start the show late enough to fast forward through all that), a silly Ford commercial where Kris Allen and Danny Gokey had super powers and Adam Lambert was just smart, and some charity thing with Alicia Keyes. Also, a very lame movie plug. And Katy Perry was wearing a cape with Adam Lambert’s name on it.

Observations I made while watching the show:

1. Theoretically everyone this week is in both the bottom three and the top three.

2. At their home town visits both Kris and Adam basically just sang, while Danny had a full orchestra and backup singers treatment.

3. Both Jordin Sparks and Katy Perry sounded screechy and off key to me.

4. Each one (more…)

Judges’ Choice on American Idol

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

itunes_110x82My American Idol review will be a little different tonight. I usually write my review as I’m actually watching the show, but this week my laptop has some issues and I’m not able to do that.

So I took notes and now I’m attempting to decipher what I wrote.

I have to say I can’t remember a stronger Top 3, or maybe I’m not trying hard enough. I thought everyone (more…)

Allison Rocks Out on American Idol

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

allisonirahetaSlashing (get it, Slash-ing). and cutting on American Idol, the hard rock version. I’m definitely starting late tonight, cause I know I’ll want to fast forward through lots of stuff.

After the Ford video - kinda lame - the show moves along to the group song, School’s Out - kinda bad. Sadly, neither Danny Gokey nor Kris Allen have realized that rock music is not their forte. They still insist on singing. This time Slash was playing the guitar, thankfully, instead of Kris, who should never, ever again attempt to play rock guitar. Ever.

So, now on to the slashing. Oh, wait, (more…)

Rock and Roll on Idol

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

slashidolHere we are with the Top 4 on American Idol, and getting ready for some rock and roll. Hopefully.

Slash is the mentor this week so I’m not sure what we can expect. Ryan Seacrest tells us the show must go on, even though an accident on the stage cause some damage that did not allow the contestants to run through their songs properly beforehand. No wonder (more…)

“That’s What Happens with Adam” on American Idol

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

matt2I’m starting the American Idol slash and chop show very late tonight, so I’ll be able to fast-forward to my heart’s content. Ryan Seacrest tells us that there were 47 million votes. I’m just not sure I believe all that vote stuff.

We also get to see Taylor Hicks, which will be fun, and Jamie Foxx, which may be less fun.

Passing right by the Ford commercial, we get right to the group sing. Um, what are (more…)

Strutting Down the Stairs on American Idol

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

ratpackIt’s Rat Pack night on American Idol and I’m happy. I’ve always been a fan of the genre, although based on what we’ve seen from this group previously, its probable that I won’t recognize anything as sung by the Idols.

Ryan Seacrest tells us that the finale is in only three weeks. He then asks us which one of these five we think will be the next American Idol. My question is does anyone of those people really think they have a chance against the speeding locomotive that is Adam Lambert? I mean, honestly?

The mentor is Jamie Foxx. Um, OK. I’m not sure how he ties into the Rat Pack, but (more…)

Idols Dance Their Way To Five

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

lilroundsThis is American Idol. The chop and slash version. I’m not happy to realize that I might have to listen to David Archuleta sing again, since I’m watching live and can’t fast forward this week. Thankfully, there’s always my friend the mute button.

The fun part of the show was Paula planning out their choreography. Its also very fun to see the Idols actually dance during the group number. Of course, that was also the bad part, cause honestly they mostly can’t dance too well. If anything, the two people I hope will be going home tonight, (more…)
