Does Amnesia Really Make People Nicer?

by

I’m very nearly still enjoying Samantha Who? It’s a bit on the serious side, though, and I do prefer for my sitcoms to be frivolous. That’s probably the main issue I have with the show. Aside from the fact that the parents and friends are still really getting on my nerves. Especially that one friend, Dena, who is just so over the top annoying. No wait, they are all are that annoying.

I never watched Married, With Children, so I don’t have any baggage to attach to Christina Applegate. She seems to be doing a pretty good job and to have some great comic timing.

christina.jpgOn the downside, the show seems a little disjointed to me. Like maybe it would be better if they had a laugh track, cause then I’d know if they meant to be funny or not. I still feel like there’s a lot of information that they are keeping from us that they should be sharing by now. If you can understand what I mean, it’s like we should know more about Samantha than we do. Everything still feels very shallow. I can almost wish that they had started the show before her amnesia so we could have gotten a good dose of what she was like then to compare to what she is like now.

It’s OK to take some things for granted, but I still think it would have been better if we had more of the facts. I’m still wondering why it is that people who have amnesia are expected to have a completely different personality than before they had amnesia. Does anyone have any thoughts on that? Cause I mean if you were a jerk before, why wouldn’t you be a jerk after? It must have something to do with upbringing or whatever and how would that be different. If you know right from wrong, you must have known that before you lost your memory, right? So what would make you care more once you lost your memory? Also, what made Todd like Samantha before if she was that awful?

See, these are just some of the questions I have. I’m just afraid that we might never find out the answers.
