ET, Go Home!
Aliens in America (CW, Mon at 8:30 ET) was absolutely as bad as I thought it was going to be. Maybe even worse. While the premise itself might have been OK (i.e., the alienation people feel when they are “different” from everyone else, especially in high school, and their desire to fit in), they way they went about it was just not right. First of all, pretty much everyone came across as rude, self-centered, shallow and ignorant, aside from the two “aliens,” Justin and Raju, who just appeared clueless and dull. Basically, there were no likable characters on the show.
Besides that, though, is the fact that it’s not funny. The jokes were fairly tasteless (not that that is any indication as to whether or not people will like a show, look at Married With Children), but even worse, the main focus of the episode was about getting rid of Raja because people assume Pakistanis are terrorists. I don’t know about anyone else, but the acts of terrorism that occurred in our country on 9/11 are not something I’m ready to laugh about. I doubt I ever will be in a state of mind where I think it’s funny to accuse people of terrorism. Of course, it seems like they will have to move on from this point and aim their jokes in some other direction, but I think the damage has already been done. Besides new jokes aren’t necessarily going to make this show funny or make the characters any more likable.
I can’t imagine this show lasting very long. I really hope it doesn’t.

Get over it. The world has moved on and you’re still stuck there like a dinosaur.

Thank you for your opinion.
I have to say, though, that I hardly think that thousands of Americans killed by terrorists, who would like nothing better, btw, than to see all Americans dead, is something you get over.
Terrorists don’t stop. They just bide their time and then attack when people have stopped expecting anything bad to happen.
There will be more acts of terrorism here, mostly because of people with your lack of care or vigilance.
