Everybody in the Carpool!
I decided to go ahead and watch Carpoolers Tuesday night on ABC. (I didn’t want to jump into Bones in the middle, since I had been watching Cavemen, so it seemed like a good idea.) When I first read about the premise of the show and saw some clips, I just didn’t get it. I thought it would be sorta, dull, like what are they going to do, just have people sitting in a car and talking to each other the whole time? But Carpoolers wasn’t like that at all. Well, sure there was some sitting in the car and talking, but it went along with the story. And while I won’t say there was any part that made me laugh out loud or anything, it was still funny. (I’m pretty sure it wasn’t just the comparison with the last two really bad sitcoms I recently watched - Aliens in America and Cavemen - but I thought it was really good.)
The storyline had to do with Gracen (played by Fred Goss), the family man, who believes his wife, Leila (Faith Ford) is making more money than he is, and it upsets him. He doesn’t want to just ask her about it, because he thinks that will make him look bad. So Laird (Jerry O’Connell), the divorced playboy, who lives in a house furnished pretty much with just an exercise chair, a tv and a phone, tries to help his buddy out. General merriment ensues, when Laird, Aubrey, and Dougie (the newly married, newest carpool member) climb into Gracen’s house through the kitchen window to steal the $200 toaster that Leila bought with “her” money.
One highlight of the show is Marmaduke, Gracen’s son (aptly portrayed by TJ Miller), who spends all his time wandering around in a t-shirt and open bathrobe, sans pants. He even attends an online interview with just a shirt and tie.
If you didn’t watch Carpoolers this week, be sure to catch it Tuesdays on ABC at 8:30 pm. You can also go here, to watch the premiere ep online.

Don’t worry about the above comment . . . really. It’s a pingback from another blog. I like them. As a matter of fact, you should follow it and go read that blog, too.
