FIXING “THE CLASS”
I have to admit, I do like “The Class”. The characters make me laugh, even tho a few of them have a bit too much of a “Friends”-esque delivery. Mondays suck, so if it makes me laugh then I am in. I previously mentioned that the cast was just too broad to make the actual show work. More specifically, there were too many main characters. A few too many to keep track of. To fix this, my suggestion was to make the newscaster (Lucy Punch as Holly Ellenbogen) and her completely oblivious to being gay husband recurring characters, sort of like Janice or Gunther on Friends.
Well, it seems that the producers have been having some second thoughts about having such a big cast. In this week’s episode, Lucy Punch was absent from the credits, and nowhere to be seen on the show. I have heard that when she was told her role was to be reduced, she quit, but I have no idea if that is true or not. According to TV Squad (or, more accurately, a comment on there), they still intend to use the husband, played by Sam Harris. Harris, by the way, was the very first big winner on Star Search all those years ago (1984 I believe).
