Get Ready for a Big Bang

So tonight is the premiere of The Big Bang Theory (CBS; 8:30 pm ET). At first I wasn’t looking forward to this show, then I read a little about it and it seemed more interesting.  Then I read more and now I’m not sure again. I went back to check and see that my original post about this show did create a lot of comments, so maybe that means something.

I plan on watching tonight, for sure, cause I want to see what I think. I almost wish I hadn’t read anything about any of these new shows, cause I don’t want to be all prejudiced against them before they even start. Like, I had sorta gotten myself all psyched for Back To You (I wasn’t even aware that I was, honestly) and then when I saw it, I was a little let down. I just expected it to be funny. You know, really funny.

I mean, I watch eps of Everybody Loves Raymond pretty much every day (its on while I make dinner) and even though I’ve seen some of those eps like five or more times, I still laugh at the jokes. You know why? Cause it’s funny. How simple is that? They just made the show funny. Why is it that they never seem to do that any more?

Well, I’m hoping for the best tonight and we’ll see what happens. The commercials I’ve seen for Big Bang are pretty much the same ones over and over again, and while they are cute, I wouldn’t call them side-splitting. I guess everyone does have a different sense of humor, so that may have something to do with it, but still, funny is funny. Isn’t it? I mean, there has to be some things that are just generally funny.  Jokes at which the majority of people would laugh, right?

I don’t know, maybe I’m thinking about this too much. Then I set myself up to be all disappointed.

So I’ll just ask nicely. Please, Johnny Galecki, don’t disappoint me tonight. Be funny.
