I Love Sitcoms
When I started to think about sitcoms, I was invariably drawn back to the good old days, and all the shows I watched when I was really young. I watched pretty much only sitcoms back then, mostly cause they were short and funny, thereby not requiring much of a commitment in either time or brain power. Which, come to think of it, is still what I want from TV.
In any case, I thought I’d use this blog to chat about sitcoms past, present and, occasionally, future. Hopefully, you can comment on what your favorite sitcoms were and are, as well.
I figure any discussion about sitcoms ought to start with the quintessential sitcom, maybe even the first sitcom . . . I Love Lucy. I did love Lucy. Even when you watch eps today, it’s still so very funny. I always picture Lucy in that big vat, smooshing the grapes to make wine and it still makes me laugh.
You can get the DVDs at Amazon or DeepDiscount.com. They are definitely worth watching, again and again, in my opinion, even 50 years later.

Lucy and Ethel were hands down the funniest women on television…ever. The chocolate factory episode was a classic too.

Yep, I loved her shoving all those chocolates in her mouth. She was just so funny, and it seemed like it was effortless for her.
