Life in the Carpool Lane
Alright, I already gave my opinion on Cavemen, so I’ll continue on with ABC’s line up and take a stab at Carpoolers.
The series will air on Tuesdays at 8:30 pm ET starting on October 2. (Is it just me or does it seem like they start the “season” later and later every year? When I was a kid, I always thought they started the new shows just after Labor Day and ran them until just around Memorial Day. Now it’s all confused, like there are different “seasons” starting at different times and I never know when anything is gonna be on anymore. Sorry, I’m digressing.)
Back to Carpoolers. The ABC site has this to say about the new series:
There are men who actively try and figure out the world — together. These men are more complicated than we might think — they have hopes, ambitions, families, careers, and insecurities. These men are the Carpoolers; four guys, living different versions of the modern suburban family life who obsess, dream, and strategize as they rocket their way up and down the carpool lane every day.
OK, how is this funny again? Am I confused? Is this not a sitcom? I watched the clip and it wasn’t funny. Plus, whenever I see Jerry O’Connell I think of the fat kid in Stand By Me. I’m probably the only one.

Anyway, there is a guy on there named Marmaduke and that’s kinda funny.
Most of the reviews I’ve read don’t sound too keen on the show, but we’ll see. I think it could be pretty boring with just the one scene . . . 4 guys in a car . . . forever and ever. Although, maybe it won’t be exactly like that. I mean, maybe they’ll all have lunch together and then they can be 4 guys sitting at a lunch table in the cafeteria.
From what I’ve gathered, they mostly dump on their wives, protraying them as over-achievers or lazy slobs, but again, I’m just putting things together from what I’ve read. Maybe it’s gonna be a big hit.
I doubt I’ll watch it though, cause I’m just not feeling it.

OK Carpoolers sounds pretty lame, but I know for a fact you aren’t the only person that pictures Jerry O’Connell as the fat kid from Stand By Me… what a great movie.
Marmaduke LOL

I had no idea that Jerry O’Connell was the fat kid in Stand By Me. And I can’t believe Rebecca left Uncle Jessie for him!!
