NY Comic Con: Fringe Panel

More of my not-so-great photos. Fringe Panel: Jeff Pinkner, Anna Torv, Kirk Acevedo, Blair Brown.

At the Fringe panel at NY Comic Con the moderator came out, I don’t remember his name but he was from TV Guide (I guess I could look him up, but I’m afraid I don’t care enough), and he walked across the stage to a burst of cheers and applause. Of course, this was mostly cause we were still all hyped up by the Dollhouse panel and excited to see the cast of Fringe. His comment was something like “No one even knows who I am and yet you still applaud. I love Comic Con.” Me, too, buddy, me, too!

Showing up for the the panel was producer, Jeff Pinkner, and the main cast, Anna Torv, Kirk Acevedo, Blair Brown, Lance Reddick, Jasika Nicole, Joshua Jackson and John Noble. Along with the panel discussion and audience questions, they also showed us a clip of the first act of Tuesday night’s ep of Fringe. What wasn’t mentioned was that Fringe won’t be back until on until April. What’s that all about? (Oh, right, American Idol.)

Everyone seemed really nice and funny. I especially came to like Anna Torv, who never really hit the right spot with me before. She’s always seemed a little distant to me somehow, like bad casting in an otherwise warm cast. But seeing her real personality live, she comes across so much differently. When a fan asked her to wear some strange hat he had made and do an “experiment with him” and she stood right up to help, I liked her even better. Even though the guy was weird and creepy. But whatever.

Getting back to the moderator, while he seemed like a nice guy, he wasn’t that great of a mod. His questions were a little off, making for awkward moments on the stage. Also, he continually didn’t speak into the microphone nor did he encourage the panel members to do so, which made it a little hard to hear a lot of what was going on anyway. And I was right up in the front.

One thing I did learn is that the Observer can be seen in every ep of the series. I didn’t realize that. But I did notice him in this past ep, cause I made sure to look. Now I want to go back and watch all the eps again just to find him.

Reminder: If you care, you should check out my other blog at Watching CW, where I’m also blogging about different Comic Con stuff.
