On America’s Next Top Model they used the phrase “racially ambiguous” and in my watching cw blog I kinda wondered what they meant and if it was supposed to be a positive thing.
So last night I was randomly changing channels and came across Live Free or Die Hard. I’d already seen it, but watching a quick scene or two brought back to mind something I thought at that time. There was what I thought was a bit of bad casting, which was Maggie Q as Mai and Christina Chang as Taylor. If you have seen the movie, you know that one of them was a good guy and one a bad guy. But they were in many alternating scenes at the beginning of the movie, and I found it a little confusing, because they were so similar looking it was hard to tell them apart. Similar in an ambiguous way, like really beautiful, but kinda bland and same looking.

I’m not saying they’re twins or anything, but they definitely look alike, and in the context of the movie, I was originally a little confused.
The same week I saw Live Free or Die Hard, I also saw Transformers, and noticed another similiarity between actors, Timothy Olyphant (Die Hard) and Josh Duhamel (Transformers):

Also, I notice a little resemblance between these two and Ryan Seacrest:
So those are my random thoughts. I’m sure they aren’t totally new to me, but I felt like sharing.
