Secret Life of the American Baby
Please, please somebody tell me that Shailene Woodley is as tired of Amy’s whining on The Secret Life of the American Teenager as I am. Please.
I watched the last two eps of this season, as I promised myself I would, and it just seemed to get worse. I was hoping that once the baby was born, she’d pull herself together and be happier. But even then, she still cried and whined and complained about how tired she was and blah blah blah blah blah.
Actually, there was a glimmer of something better last week when they started showing Amy and Ricky’s first meeting at Band Camp. Suddenly, we had a fun, interesting, happy Amy again. Look, I know that being 15 and having a baby isn’t a happy time or anything, but if I was Amy’s mother, I’d have slapped her around a little long before now. Anne is just too calm and acquiesent, if you ask me. I’m just being honest. I know that Anne is being tough, which is a good, but she’s so controlled about it all. Maybe its the Italian in me, but in my world, there’d be a lot more yelling and gnashing of teeth.
But this week, they didn’t go back there and, I thought, left things a little unfinished. I mean, we know what happened, obviously, and I didn’t want to actually see it happen, but I just thought there was more to the story that they could show us. But apparently not.
It was interesting to see all the couples pairing up again. Although, I hate Adrian for preferring Ricky to Max (see, I finally figured out his name) cause he was so much the better man. Also, I’m a little mad with Adrian’s dad (I still don’t know his name) for leaving his wife and Anne for sleeping with David on their first date when she is still married to George. Sure, George cheated on her, but two wrongs don’t make a right. Doesn’t anyone believe that their marriage vows mean anything anymore?
