Sneak Peak at the ABC Fall Line Up (part one)

by Meleah Hawthorne

After some research, I have discovered that ABC has added double the amount of new shows to their fall line up as NBC. NBC has added five new shows, while ABC has added a whopping eleven. But, sometimes quality is better than quantity. The powers that be over at ABC must have over looked that little nugget of wisdom when they decided to add this to their repartee.

Tuesday Nights at 8pm, Caveman.
“Basing the show on their popular GEICO “cavemen” commercials, Joe Lawson, Will Speck and Josh Gordon, have created a hilarious and thought-provoking social commentary on race relations in today’s America.?

I don’t think this is a thought provoking or hilarious TV show. After watching THIS VIDEO first hand, to say that I am disappointed would be an understatement. While I love the Geico cavemen commercials, I don’t think there is enough material to work with in order to fill a thirty-minute slot every week on prime time TV. I have to admit, back when this show was still in the rumor phase, I was routing for it, lord knows we need good sitcoms, it is enough already with reality TV. But sadly, now that I have witnessed what came out of the production end, I see this becoming a huge failure and quickly. Maybe they should have hired the same guys that are in the commercials.

At least this is still funny…and in only 32 seconds and without words…

what about bionic cavemen?! some things are just more funny in small amounts. like the “where’s the beef?” lady. yeah, i laughed the first few times i saw that ad. would i sit through 30 minutes of that lady asking the question? not unless it followed a session of 7th heaven drinking games. i can imagine that the primitive urge to kill might follow a half hour of the cavemen.

  2. Meleah Hawthorne Says:

Brookstone: OMG! you are too funny! I think a bionic buzz after the 7th heaven drinking game maybe the only thing that that will subdue any primitive urges after 30 minutes of cavecrap TV.

  3. JENNIFER Says:

CAVEMAN COMMERCIALS ROCK - I CAN’T FORM AN OPINION ABOUT A CAVEMAN SHOW UNTIL I SEE THE SHOW THOUGH…SORRY.

WHENS IT GOING TO BE ON??

  4. Meleah Hawthorne Says:

you dont need to watch the show … all you need to watch is the VIDEO link provided above and you can surley form an opinon based off that. the time and day are also posted in the article above

  5. JENNIFER Says:

DONT TRY TO CONTROL ME, I’M NOT PRIMITIVE, I’M NOT A CAVEMAN. I HAVE A MIND AND I CAN THINK FOR MYSELF. SOUNDS LIKE YOU WANNA WRITE ME INTO ONE OF THESE EPISODES…I CANT FORM AN OPINION BASED ON THE VIDEO LINK…I THOUGHT THAT WAS ONE OF THE OLD COMMERCIALS TOO.
SORRY IM NOT AS EVOVLED AS YOU.

  6. Jessica K. Says:

Hiring the same guys who did the commercials to do the sitcom too would be the wise thing to do… If I was reading this right, this was ABC’s idea, right? I hope it wasn’t NBC idea, I will be very disappointed at them (NBC) since out of NBC, ABC, and CBS. NBC is the best channel.

  7. Meleah Hawthorne Says:

Jessica: I love NBC too! But don’t give up on ABC all together, they do have a few new sitcoms that look promising! There will be more posts on what IS good on ABC soon!

  8. Olly Says:

I WILL NOT WATCH IT ON A TRAIN!
I WILL NOT WATCH IT IN A PLANE!
I WILL NOT WATCH IT ON A BOAT!
I WILL NOT WATCH IT WITH A GOAT!
    NOT EVEN 15 MINUTES!
    THANX SO MUCH

  9. Olly Says:

    15 MINUTES….LOL
    I CRACK MYSELF UP DON’T I?
OH YEA- AND YOUR QUITE THE RIOT YOURSELF THERE SKIPPY!
THANX AGAIN FOR THE HEADS UP.
