The Bachelor Comes Calling

by

naomiLast week on The Bachelor is the home visit episode where Jason goes to the final four girls homes to meet their parents. This episode is always a little awkward, I think, since he has to meet all these people and explain who he is to them.

As usual, there is one family who just doesn’t want to meet him, and this year that family is Melissa’s. I don’t think it will ruin her chances, though. Jillian’s family seems like they are normal and pleasant people. They all seem to like him and they just feel like real people. The home visit there seems to go really well.

Molly’s family is a more like her, intense and just a little strange, making everyone wear these crazy looking hats, but in a fun good way. That visit also seems to have gone well.

Naomi’s family is kind of off-putting. Her father preaches Christianity at Jason and her mother talks about Spirituality, even having him say words over a dead dove they are burying in the yard. Then they all play with hula hoops. Really? It was just rather uncomfortable to watch. I imagine it was uncomfortable for Jason to go through. At this point, Naomi would be the one I’d axe at the end.

As I mentioned, Melissa’s family chooses not to meet with Jason because they want to remain private. They’re pretty much smarter than anyone else at this point. Including all of us who watch this show every week. Instead, Jason meets with some of Melissa’s friends, and they have a nice time. I would hope he insists on meeting her parents before proposing to her. Yes, I do think she’s going to be the winner. I’m gonna go right out there now and say it. But I’m way behind in the guess game. Check out Reality Steve, he has lots to say on the subject and he even gives out clues.

Then Jason and Chris sit down and talk it all out before the rose ceremony. I always fast-forward through this part, because, honestly, I don’t care what Jason is thinking. Talk about reality.

At the rose ceremony, Jason hands out the first rose to Molly, the second goes to Jillian and the final rose to Melissa. And, yes, I was right, Naomi is done. Smart move.
