The Cooper-Nowitzki Theorem
A friend was over Monday night and watched The Big Bang Theory with me. She commented that it is one of the best shows on television to come out of the last few years. I have to totally agree with her. Especially, as far as sitcoms go, since its the only one from the last two years that I am still watching.
This week’s episode was, once again, good. I guess I have to stop talking about how Sheldon has stolen the show away, cause its pretty much a given at this point. So this week, Sheldon finds himself with an admirer, although he doesn’t seem to understand what is happening. At first.
Before too long, Sheldon realizes that Romona is completely taking over his life and won’t allow him to do anything but work. She even interfers with his Wednesday Halo night! There was a fun sequence where they played Barenaked Ladies song Yoko Ono to scenes of Romona making Sheldon work while his friends were having fun.
Sheldon then tries to enlist help from Penny cause he says she seems to be an expert in ending relationships. And then from Leonard, when he tries to teach him Morse code through the wall at 3 am. That exchange led to one of my fave scenes, when Sheldon tells Leonard he’s invoking the Skynet clause of their relationship, then the body snatcher’s clause and the Godzilla clause. Leonard knocks down all three, since the first one is only if Sheldon created an artificial intelligence that was taking over the world, the second only applied if there were evil pod people, and the third means she would have to be destroying Tokoyo.
Finally, Sheldon does have a big breakthrough in his research, all thanks to Romona. But then she breaks the last straw when she asks him to share the credit for his research. At that, he orders her out.
Leonard did have a couple of other lines that I thought were good: “If you don’t do this, I won’t take you to the comic book store.” “Sheldon lives in fear of the three-tyne fork.” Who doesn’t?
