There’s No Such Thing as Vampires
I’m starting to wonder if Moonlight is gonna be one of “my” shows. By that I mean, a show I need to see every week. A show I have to tape all the eps of, and then watch them over and over again. When Buffy was on, I watched every ep when it aired, but also taped it. Then I watched it again immediately that night. Then I usually watched it once during the week before it aired again, and sometimes once more right before it aired. So I generally saw each ep at least three or four times within the first week. (I won’t even tell you how many more times I’ve watched them all since then.)
I’m not positive that Moonlight is at that level, but I do find that I’m thinking about it more than any other show this season. Although, I do think about Chuck a bit, as well. (Well, mostly, I think about Adam Baldwin, whom I adore.) I do have a predilection for vampire shows, however, that doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m predisposed to like any vamp show that comes down the pike.
I also have some issues with Moonlight, because of the lore mostly. Like this idea that vampires can wander around in daylight or the thought that vampires can chose to be good guys. I know it’s cause my vision was shaped by Stephen King and Joss Whedon, and they follow a different path. Or maybe its the same one as all the other vamp stories and Moonlight is the one that’s different.
I do have other complaints, too, like so far he’s been staked and spent hours wandering in the hot sun of the desert, without dying, mind you, and it’s only been 4 weeks. That seems a little quick, but I guess I don’t know what they are going for over all, or what their plan is for the season.
Despite all of that, I am still really interested in this show. OK, I have to figure this out. I think I’ll go watch all four eps over again. Right now.

I’ve missed Chuck the past 2 weeks. I know you love Adam Balwin, but I think the guy who plays Chuck is adorable!
