Worst Weak
I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either. I did laugh once. But I can’t remember why anymore. I wasn’t even expecting all that much from Worst Week. But that’s OK, cause I didn’t get much.
The entire show was simply about how many stupid things one guy could do in 22 minutes. Basically. It’s just the kind of silly, embarrassing humor that I hate most. Well, at least it wasn’t just all about sex. There were just so many unbelievably stupid things that happened. I mean, who takes a shower in a strange person’s bathroom and doesn’t bother to check for a towel first.
But that’s not the only stupid thing Sam (Kyle Bornheimer) did. He also peed on the goose. After a confusing phone call, he told his girlfriend, Melanie, and her family that their father was dead. While trying to help get the power back on, he set fire to a portrait of the judge especially commissioned for his birthday and which had taken a year to paint. There were other things as well, and I can’t even begin to describe them all.
He literally just went from one stupid act to the next. Honestly, I wonder what Melanie saw in him. This was all before he had even had a chance to tell Melanie’s parents that she was pregnant and they were getting married.
I’m a fan of Kurtwood Smith and Nancy Lenehan, but I don’t think they can save this show. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe people will appreciate this type of humor, but I really don’t think I can stand another week of disaster after disaster. The weird thing is I probably would enjoy the British version, The Worst Week of My Life. I’m not sure why it is, but somehow when Brits are doing the same sill things they come across as funnier to me than when Americans take them on. Case in point, The Office. I find the American version makes me uncomfortable, but the British version I like.
I guess we’ll see if Worst Week will stand the test of time. But if it does, it will be without me watching, that’s for sure.

Never even heard of this show but sounds like I’ll take a pass. Speaking of British series…did you ever watch “On the Buses”? I caught an episode of it last night on Vision TV. Don’t know if you get that channel. I loved that show as a kid, my parents watched it all the time. Funny stuff.
Oh and did you lose a link?

I did not lose the link. I promise.
You should definitely pass on Worst Week. I don’t think I ever saw On The Buses. Maybe it can be found online somewhere?

Well I do believe there are clips on youtube, probably not whole episodes though. Typical strange and funny British humour. Used to watch “Are You Being Served” too….ahhh…the good old days.
